Surrogate: A Story of Love opening reception C. Marvel
Bodies tell of what we feel and think, more than words. The flesh speaks the hidden language of the heart. Through a female figure study, all the love they possessed was revealed. A parallel set of stories are revealed in a study of nests. A nest is a surrogate womb. Eggs are laid, but need a safe place to grow, thrive. Such is the nature of love. It needs a womb. Many stories are birthed from the way we love. Every love is singular, much like the way every mother sees each one of her children. This is a series of paintings that explores these stories.
