Blue Is The Warmest Color

The LGBTFEST @ The Columbus International Film + Video Festival presents: Blue Is The Warmest Color Winner of the Palme d'Or for the director and both lead actresses, Blue Is The Warmest Color was the sensation of this year's Cannes Film Festival even before it was awarded the Palme d'Or. Adèle Exarchopoulos is a young woman whose longings and ecstasies and losses are charted across a span of several years. Léa Seydoux (Midnight in Paris) is the older woman who excites her desire and becomes the love of her life. Kechiche's movie is, like the films of John Cassavetes, an epic of emotional transformation that pulses with gestures, embraces, furtive exchanges, and arias of joy and devastation. It is a profoundly moving hymn to both love and life. Justin Chang writing for Variety said that the film contains "the most explosively graphic lesbian sex scenes in recent memory". Stephen Garrett of The New York Observer said that the film was "nothing less than a triumph" and "is a major work of sexual awakening". This film is rated NC-17. $9 for adults $7 for seniors $7.50 for students FREE for CIF+VF members, Stonewall members and LGBTFEST pass holders...more
