Streetsboro Heritage Foundation - Singletary House

The mission of the Streetsboro Heritage Foundation is to preserve the history, artifacts and genealogical material of Streetsboro, Ohio, while disseminating information and maintaining the Singletary House Museum for future generations. Singletary House Museum tours will focus on its significant place in Streetsboro, Portage County, Ohio's Western Reserve, and United States history.
"This home, known as the Singletary residence prior and during the Civil War was located at the Route 14 and Route 43 intersection in Streetsboro. The Singletary House was one of the 60 homes in Portage County which hid fugitive slaves using the Underground Railroad.
The Streetsboro Heritage Foundation also has a variety of special events taking place throughout the year including a heritage festival and breakfast with Santa. They also offer tours of the Singletary House and the viewing of the vast assortment of historical items within it.
