Highlands Nature Sanctuary
Highlands Nature Sanctuary is 2200-acre nature preserve protecting the Rocky Fork Gorge. The visitor center at the Appalachian Forest Museum includes a nature museum about the temperate forest biome and the forests of Ohio, as well as a mile of nature trails that showcase the gorge, grottos, rock scenery, and the Rocky Fork Creek.
There is no admission to visit the museum and nature trails during open hours. Avid hikers may choose purchase an annual membership for anytime access to the Sanctuary's wilderness hiking trails.
