The Wooster Jam festival is a celebration of the arts with local Ohio artists. We present all disciplines of artists, including rock bands, dancers, actors, film makers, poets, sculptors, painters, jazz bands, story tellers, ceramic artists, pianists, bluegrass bands, improv comedy groups, and more. Most artists who participate are either from Wayne County or the College of Wooster, with others from the Northeast Ohio region. Some popular artists that have presented at the Wooster Jam, and should return, are the Cedar Valley Cloggers, Northwest Territory, the Ohio Light Opera, poet Daniel Bourne, ceramics artist Jim Spires, and storyteller Jim Bowsher. Also, many artists come prepared to sell their products, such as paintings, jewelry, CDs, books, videos, and unique crafts.
Their are two special components returning for the 2013 Wooster Jam. First, is the highly acclaimed Voicefest, a cappella competition. Unique to the Jam, Voicefest is a intercollegiate, a cappella competition that will draw groups from all over Ohio for a single musical event that will result in a single champion taking home prize money. Secondly, the Jam will be working with the WE Fair again, bringing artists and food from different countries throughout the world. With the Jam artists, the Voicefest competition, and the WE fair, the Wooster Jam promises to be a full on party for the arts.
