LaDue Public Hunting Area

The LaDue Public Hunting Area totals 8,791 acres situated primarily in southern Geauga County centered around the intersections of US Route 422 and State Route 44.

Waterfowl hunting requires a controlled waterfowl hunting permit, obtained through an annual drawing. Contact the Division of Wildlife for the drawing date. Furbearer trapping is permitted throughout the area, however, a permit is required to trap beaver or river otter on this or any Division-owned or managed land.

White-tailed deer, wild turkey, and squirrel, cottontail rabbit and woodchuck are present in the area. A variety of waterfowl frequent the reservoir and smaller wetlands during migration. Mallards, wood ducks, and Canada geese are common. Numbers of diving duck species increase in late fall and winter.

A hydrographic fishing map Publication 264 for LaDue Reservoir is available.

There are parking lots available throughout the wildlife area. There are two boat ramps located just off of Washington Road north of US 422 and just south of Taylor-May Road on SR 44.
