Killbuck Marsh Wildlife Area

This 5,671-acre wildlife area is situated in northeastern Ohio in portions of Wayne and Holmes counties. County and township roads provide good access to most of the wildlife area. Small parking lots are scattered throughout.

Waterfowl and upland game species hunting are popular in the area. Furbearers, especially muskrats, provide many hours of recreational opportunity for trappers.

A great variety of nesting and migrant birds utilize the area. Of particular interest is the spring migration of waterfowl and songbirds.

A walking-only trail for wildlife observation follows the abandoned B&O Railroad, through the center of the area. The trail is four miles long, and passes through a large variety of habitats.

The refuge between Centerville Road and Force Road is always closed to the public. The Wright Marsh area is closed for the first two weeks of waterfowl hunting season unless you have a permit.
