The McCook Opening Weekend Civil War Encampment

The McCook House Civil War Museum will open the 2013 season the weekend of May 18th & 19th with a Civil War Encampment and Living History Weekend.  Civil War Re-enactors will set up camp in the back yard of the McCook House in Carrollton, Ohio.  There will be drills, Abraham Lincoln will be in attendance, Sunday Church service, memorial service at cemetery and more.  The McCook House was built in 1832 by Major Daniel McCook who along with his brother Dr. John McCook and their 14 sons all servered in the military prior to and during the Civil War, which is how they became known as the "Fighting McCook's".  The Museum is an Ohio Historical Society Site operated by the Carroll County  Historical Society.
