Take a Hike on Thursdays

The popular Take a Hike walking tours in Downtown Cleveland return May 1 - September 12, 2010! Locals and visitors alike can enjoy four unique guided walking tours complete with actors and actresses portraying historic Cleveland figures. On Thursdays, Historic Gateway Neighborhood tours begin at 6 PM at The Arcade (401 Euclid Avenue). On Saturdays, Historic Warehouse District tours begin at 10 AM at Constantino's Market (1278 West 9th Street). On Sundays, Canal Basin Park tours begin at 10 AM at the Settler's Landing RTA Station (1025 West Superior Avenue, bottom of the hill). On Tuesdays, the new PlayhouseSquare tours depart at 6 PM from the State Theatre Lobby (1519 Euclid Avenue). Historic figures you may encounter on your hike include Frances Payne Bolton, Mayor Tom Johnson, Daniel Burnham, Mrs. Alfred Kelley, Garrett Morgan, Alan Freed and/or John D. Rockefeller. Tours last approximately one and a half hours in length. Suggested donations of $5 per person are encouraged to help fund future tours.
