Lake Hope State Park Cottages

Lake Hope State Park is located in the scenic rolling hills of Vinton County, 20 miles west of Athens. The park is surrounded by forest in one of Ohio's most picturesque landscapes. 

60 vacation cottages have heat and A/C for confortable getaways, year-round.  Two-bedroom family cottages sleep 6, while basic two-bedroom cottages sleep 4, and three-bedroom cottages sleep 8.  Each type of cottage offers a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with shower, and furnished living room with cable TV.  Many of the cottages have woodburning fireplace.  Select cottages allow pets. 

Laurel Lodge sleeps up to 22 guests with 8 doem style bedrooms, and offers bathrooms with showers, a full kitchen, and a living/meeting area with large screen TV and wood burning fireplace.

Recreation in the park includes 17 miles of hiking trails and 14 miles of mountain biking trails.  Interpretive programs explore the area's colorful past and diverse natural history, and the nature center features interesting displays. 
120-acre Lake Hope offers a sand beach for swimming. Laid-back boating is limited to canoes, kayaks and boats with electric motors only. Boat rental is available and a launch ramp provides easy lake access. Enjoy fishing from shore. Hunting is permitted in the adjacent state forest.
