First Presbyterian Church of Bucyrus
The First Presbyterian Church is home to the famous Presbyterian Dolls that were handmade by the ladies of the Church during the 1940s and 1950s. These dolls were all made by hand with detailed hand painted heads. The ladies also made all of the clothing and shoes for both girl and boy dolls. The church has opened a doll museum for these dolls, as many are being returned to the church by members. This interesting story is a real delight in seeing all of the handwork in making these dolls.
Located in the nursery department of the church is Noah's Ark Mural which was designed and painted by a member of the church, Barb Dolch with the help of her husband Ed. This mural just makes your heart feel good as the faces of all the animals are animated and loved by children both young and old. The artist may be there to answer any questions that you may have.
A tour of these attractions may be arranged by contacting the Bucyrus Tourism and Visitors' Bureau.
