The Midland Theatre
The Midland Theatre has become the premier venue for the arts in Licking County and its surrounding central Ohio area. Featuring an enriching and diverse offering of live performances - from legendary musicians, to innovative dance, with intimate stage door cabaret performances and family entertainment -the Midland has become an integral part of the community.
Well into our 8th Season since its magnificent renovation, the Midland’s 2009-2010 Season features legendary artists The Smothers Brothers, Three Dog Night and The New Christy Minstrels, Grammy Award winning songwriters Jon Vezner and Barbara Bailey Hutchison, and rising stars Ruthie Foster, Bearfoot, Missy Raines and the New Hip, and Emilie-Claire Barlow to name a few.
The Newark Midland Theatre Association is a local organization dedicated to building value in our community with the positive, shared experiences of the performing arts, both locally produced and nationally recognized, in the beautifully restored Midland Theatre. Built in 1928, The Midland Theatre annually presents touring and local artists through its five performance series, inspiring arts education and community out reach programs. The Midland Theatre’s mission is enriching the lives of audiences today and tomorrow.
