Seneca Lake
Seneca Lake, situated in Guernsey and Noble counties just south of Cambridge and the intersection of I-70 and I-77, is one of eastern Ohio's top boating and outdoor attractions. Managed by the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District, the lake was constructed in the 1930s for flood reduction and water conservation, but has turned into an outdoor recreational paradise. The lake and accompanying Seneca Lake Park are easily accessible off I-70 and I-77 to Rt. 313 in Noble and Guernsey counties. Boating, fishing, camping, hiking, biking, hunting, swimming and more are among the reasons visitors make their way to Seneca Lake each year. A campground of nearly 600 sites at Seneca Lake Park accommodates visitors for a weekend, a week, month or more. The park also is home to a full schedule of activities and events each year from Memorial Day through Labor Day. A full-service marina also is available to serve visitors and guests.
