Promont - Milford Historical Society Museum
Completed in 1867, Promont is an Italianate-style home with unique architectural elements that was called the finest house in Clermont County when built. Promont was the home of Governor John M. Pattison from 1879-1906. A large stained glass window on the front stairway, varied moldings in each room, Italian marble fireplaces, and a four-story tower offering a panoramic view of the town provide a trip back to the elegance of the Victorian period.
The Promont House Museum offers a historical library, period furnishings, art, china, photographs, and a gift shop for memorabilia. The Promont House Museum holds several events and activities for the general public and group tours throughout the year including "Afternoon Tea Party". Step back in time with Victorian ambience, precise service and elegant presentations. Bookings require one month notice, accommodating parties of 10 to 35. Be sure to check out our web site for details on these events.
