Ohio Mennonite Relief Sale and Auction
The Ohio Mennonite Relief Sale is a benefit auction held annually on the first Saturday in August. The sale is staffed solely by volunteers and proceeds go to Mennonite Central Committee (MCC). MCC is active in disaster relief and aiding the poor around the world.
The Relief Sale is held annually on the first Saturday in August (August 3, 2013). On August 2 this year, we'll have an open house beginning at 4pm. Come for Gerber's BBQ Chicken dinners, Laotian egg rolls, Amish noodles and fry pies, homemade ice cream and more. A music program and Silent Auction complete the evenings events.
Saturday's events begin with breakfast at 7am. The Wood and Art & Collectibles auctions begin at 9:00 am on Saturday and the Quilt auction begins at 10:00 am. All items are donated to our Quilt, Wood, and Art Auctions. We auction over one hundred handmade Amish & Mennonite quilts as well as a wide selection of quality locally-made furniture. The Art and Collectible auction features originals, prints, pottery and antiques.
Check out our website to preview auction items for 2013.
A Cornhole Tournament and Volleyball Tournament will take place during the sale. Registration information is available on our website.
Kids are welcome, too! Children's activities include a train ride, Jumping House, games, face-painting and our Children's Auction. Parking, admission & hayride shuttle service are free.
NEW LOCATION IN 2013 - after many years at Central Christian High School, the event moves to the air-conditioned Buckeye Event Center just off Route 30 near Dalton.
