Kent State University Museum

The Kent State University Museum presents a wide variety of exhibitions with a primary focus on fashion, costume, and the decorative arts. Located on the university's beautiful front campus in Rockwell Hall, a restored Beaux Arts building which once served at the university's library, the Museum's eight galleries display constantly changing historical and contemporary exhibitions, often highlighting creations by some of the world's greatest designers.

Most of the exhibitions are largely comprised of selections curated from the Museum's permanent collection, considered to be one of the nation's largest and finest depositories of historic and contemporary fashion, spanning world cultures and several centuries from 18th to present day. Exhibitions on loan are also featured. The Museum also has a significant collection of decorative arts, textiles, furnishings, Ohio pottery, and Ohio Valley industrially-produced glass.

The Museum is open year round with exhibitions ranging from surveys of costume history to celebrity and contemporary fashions to explorations of general material culture modes. The facility also serves as a research library and cultural resource for students and faculty of all disciplines.
