Ohio Division of Travel and Tourism Hires Multicultural Marketing Firm

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Division of Travel and Tourism today announced the hiring of DAR Public Relations, Inc., a Cleveland-based marketing firm, to conduct a multicultural tourism marketing effort. The 18-month contract will include educating the Division on the scope and potential of the market, developing a strategic plan and executing tourism-related public relations, Web site and advertising campaigns within the African American, Hispanic and Asian communities.

Based in its response to the Division's request for proposal for multicultural tourism marketing, DAR Public Relations, Inc. was selected from the field of candidates because of its strong presence within the targeted communities, strength of experience within the multicultural consumer marketing arena and background in working on state government projects.

The DAR contract with the Division of Travel and Tourism began November 9, 2005 and extends through June 30, 2007. The total budget for this contract is $350,000.
