COLUMBUS, Ohio (Oct. 21, 2009) - The King Arts Complex presents African Art Tradition and Influence: Steve Hazard Glass Artist Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009 through Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010. This exhibition will showcase high-quality African Art loaned from the Keith Neal African Art Gallery.

The art represents the counties of Congo, Ivory Coast, Mali, Nigeria and the Cameroun in West Africa. Geometric designs are expressed in the traditional sculptures, masks, textiles and decorative arts. Hazard will be exhibiting for the first time in Ohio, the influence of tribal patterns and symbols viewed in his etched crystal art glass, fused glass pedestals, bowls and vases.
Hazard’s compositions use pattern, motifs and symbols that reflect the tradition and contemporary style while retaining the spirit and integrity of traditional Africa.
