Yellow Springs Street Fair is June 13!

YELLOW SPRINGS, Ohio (June 8, 2009) - For a different festival experience, come to Yellow Springs on June 13 for Street Fair. What’s different about Street Fair is the variety of activities for people of all ages, the space you have to enjoy all those activities and the uniqueness of Yellow Springs where you never know what surprise you’ll find around the corner.
Street Fair entertains with more than 200 booths on four streets filled with a unique mix of arts and crafts, imports, clothing, jewelry and much more. Combined with the more than 60 shops and galleries in Yellow Springs, it’s a shopping mecca for anyone looking for something special.
Food is always a festival favorite and Street Fair has cuisine from around the world. Grab your favorite food and relax in the food tent by the Jackson Lytle Ingling Stage where you can also enjoy entertainment all day. The music starts at 9:00 a.m. with the Egyptian Breeze Belly Dancers performing at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. or you can escape the crowds for a bit as you relax in one of the town's fine restaurants.
On the northern edge of Street Fair, visit the Bryan Center Music Festival and Beer Garden that operates from noon until 7:00 p.m. and features an incredible variety of music and beers all put together by Peach’s Grill, named Dayton’s Best Beer Bar.
People of all ages will enjoy the tall tales of the Yellow Springs Tale Spinners at the Street Fair Story Tree, near the playground at Mills Lawn with performances at 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. Several booths also feature fun for kids including face painting and sand art. Street performers can be found everywhere bringing a special element of surprise to the event.
To make getting to Street Fair easier, a free shuttle service will be provided for guests who park at Young’s Dairy (6800 Springfield-Xenia Road) or at Yellow Springs High School (420 E. Enon Road). The shuttle service is available from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
This one-day event is free, open to the public and handicapped accessible. Vendors start selling at 9:00 a.m. and end promptly at 5:00 p.m. Handicapped parking is available at the Municipal Lot on Corry Street. Please do not bring pets to Street Fair as the crowded conditions make it unsafe and uncomfortable.
