DAYTON, Ohio (April 15, 2009) – Three hands-on activities have been added to the line-up for Night at the Air Force Museum, a new event that takes place from 6-10:00 p.m. on May 15 at the National Museum of the United States Air Force.
Visitors can attempt to fly a Wright B simulator in the Early Years Gallery, get their faces adorned with camouflage paint in the Modern Flight Gallery and write a postcard to the troops in the Cold War Gallery.
These are the latest free activities to be announced in conjunction with the event. Visitors can also look in seven cockpits (B-24D, P-61C, RF-86F, UH-19B, F-22A, SR-71 and AC-130A), watch two IMAX films (Flyers at 7 p.m. and Destiny in Space at 8:30 p.m.), and experience Morphis MovieRides, all in addition to seeing aviation history come alive and discovering the source behind this evening of "life" at the museum. The event coincides with the spring release of the Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian movie.
Mark your calendars for this special event and watch the museum’s Web site,
www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/night.asp, for additional details. Groups of 10 or more are encouraged to pre-register on the Web site.
The National Museum of the United States Air Force is located on Springfield Street, six miles northeast of downtown Dayton. It is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week (closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day).
