Cusick’s appointment, announced in November, is being met with widespread approval by industry leaders and organizations that have seen her leadership and experience first-hand.

Matt MacLaren, President and CEO, Ohio Hotel and Lodging Association
“Mary Cusick’s background in marketing and passion to lead TourismOhio makes her a great choice.”

“To have someone with Mary’s impressive career and experience leading tourism for Ohio is exciting! The Administration took the time to find not just a candidate, but the best candidate for the position and they have more than succeeded. Mary’s history of branding and messaging for a corporate leader like Bob Evans speaks to her prowess in this field. Her forward and creative thinking was recognized and accentuated at The Ohio State University’s Fisher College of Business. Now, all of those skills will be leading Ohio’s messaging to continue to fuel the economic engine that is Ohio tourism.”

"Mary is an effective business advisor. She asks the right questions and listens for insight that can give a brand a competitive advantage. Mary understands how effective marketing works and is results-driven. Her energy, positive outlook and professional approach will get results for our state."

TourismOhio: Nearly 190 million visitors come to Ohio each year. TourismOhio is in the first year of a 5-year pilot funding model. Funding is based on the year-to-year increase in state sales tax revenue from tourism-related industries, up to $10 million dollars. The first round of funding under the pilot program became available November first.
