Celebrate Arbor Day at the Holden Arboretum.

Family friendly activities. Free admission for the whole weekend. The Great Lakes Timber Show show features chainsaw carving, axe throwing, wood chopping, one and two-man crosscut sawing, modified chain sawing, log rolling and loads of fun. Enjoy this fascinating display and learn more about the important role lumberjacks play in forest and tree management through selective harvesting. Located in the Arthur S. Holden Sr. Hedge Collection in the Display Garden, the Healthy Tree Exhibit shows homeowners how to plant and maintain happy, healthy trees. Experts will be on hand during the Arbor Day celebration to answer specific questions. Arbor Day weekend is a celebration of trees.

Families and nature lovers can interact with the natural world while learning how to help protect our trees and forests. Engaging, hands-on activities and interactive shows encourage visitors young and old to enjoy the sights and sounds of spring at the arboretum. A free tree seedling to will inspire thousands of Arbor Day visitors to bring their experience home. Arbor Day is more than a holiday.
