Livin' for the Weekend in Ohio!

Arts in Work Spaces: Rob Carroll

The city of Upper Arlington's Cultural Arts Division is proud to feature the colorful abstract paintings of Rob Carroll. Rob Carroll's work will be on display October through December at the Caspian II building, National Church Residences and The Ohio Orthopedic Center.

Carroll uses mixed media on a variety of canvases to create colorful abstract works that "explore the relationship between objects, their "value" and those who would assign a worth, or lack thereof, to them." His work poses the question "What makes one man's trash another man's treasure?" He states his intention is "that every individual who views my works can stand before them - and with their own histories, personalities and circumstances - leave with an experience unique to them."

The artist encourages viewers to touch his paintings. Carroll states, " My work is all about the impermanence of the paintings and the relationship between the impermanance of each piece and the impermanence of the viewer(s)."
