Danville Farmer's Market
Our Farmer's Market welcomes you to the Gateway to Amish Country where you will enjoy locally home grown fresh produce,fruits,jams,jellies,cheese and baked goods. On opening day we will have heirloom vegetables and flower plants to assist you in your gardens. New this season are alpaca yarn,broilers,eggs,goat soap and pet treats. Coming this fall we will have sausage,beef patties and hot dogs.Mums will be arriving in time for your fall outdoor decorating. Many new items continue to come as the seasons change. We look forward to providing you a warm welcome to our community and healthy fresh food.
While in Danville you may want to take a bike ride or hike to Mt. Vernon on the Kokosing Gap Trail which is 14 miles long and paved. It is built on a former Pennsylvania Railroad. You will see railroad bridges, forests,wetlands ,agriculture and villages. Restrooms are available in Mt. Vernon, Gambier and Howard. In Danville it is right at our park where you will enjoy the farmer's Market. The Mohican Valley trail is nature built on an abandoned Penn Central railroad bed at the eastern edge of Knox Co. The trail is 4,8 mi. long connecting Brinkhaven and Danville you will then cross over the 370 foot covered bridge. The Bridge of Dreams. The bridge then connects to Holmes Co. The trail has a surface of crushed stone and sand.This connects the East st. in Danville to Holmes Co and is traveled by Amish in buggy.
Along the way you will see many Amish businesses ,Amish working the land and the beauty of hills and valleys.
Just 12 miles up the road you can visit Mohican State Park -walking and horse trails or go to Wally Road offering a canoe livery,camping and Landohl's Castle to stay over night or dine.

Introduced in 2011, this was a great success and enjoyed by visitors all over the world including Pixar/Disney and several travel writers.
This authentic evening experience allows visitors coming to Holmes County an opportunity to sit around the campfire while conversing with a local Amish family.
The evening begins at 6:00 PM. Upon arrival, you will be greeted and escorted to the backyard to sit around the family campfire. A delicious cast iron kettle of homemade stew, corn bread, frozen fruit slush, fruit cobbler, homemade root beer and s'mores will appease your appetite!
During the course of the evening, the family will take you on a tour of their home and farm, take you on a buggy ride, or a horse drawn wagon ride.
Enjoy the friendly conversation under the beautiful sky and farm atmosphere.
