    Hummingbirds are fascinating creatures and you can get up close and personal with these tiny birds at Lake Hope State Park.  Visitors are provided with feeders designed to hand-feed hummingbirds. Meet at the Lake Hope State Park Nature Center.

  • 28th Annual Antique & Classic Car Show, Strawberry Festival

    Fabulous antique and classic cars set the stage for a nostalgic look into the past as they are majestically lined up throughout the historic restored 19th Century Jefferson Depot Village. Travel back in time to the 1800's for a fun-filled day for the whole family.

    Cars for Dad, hand-crafted treasures (craft show) for Mom, fun amusements and free games for the kids, plus strawberry shortcake, entertainment and food. Toe-stomping music on the village bandstand at 1:30 p.m. plus see the restored buildings the 3rd weekend in June.

  • Mentor Lagoons Nature Preserve

    The 450-acre Mentor Lagoons Nature Preserve is on Ohio's north coast and features 1-1/2 miles of wild, natural beach. A network of trails leads the hiker through four diverse vistas, including an upland forest, the Mentor Marsh, the lagoons and the Lake Erie shoreline. A water trail has been established for paddlers, along with safe portage to Lake Erie. Kayaks are available to rent from the Marina Office.

    This City-owned preserve offers free use of electric carts for the physically challenged; they are available on a first come basis. The City of Mentor will customize nature hikes, hayrides, and kayak or canoe trips to meet your needs. This is an ideal nature stop for anyone visiting northeast Ohio and provides exception birding opportunities. Immediately adjacent is the 700 acre Mentor Marsh State Nature Preserve. Just east of that is Headlands Beach State Park, the longest public swimming beach in Ohio.

  • Spirit of '76 Musuem

    See the celebrated history of painter Archibald Willard, artist of the famous "Spirit of '76." This painting is considered by many to be the nation's most inspirational painting of all-time. In addition to the many paintings by Willard, the museum contains Revolutionary and Civil War artifacts. Group tours are available by appointment and admission is free.

  • Old Stone House Bed & Breakfast

    Built from sandstone in 1817, this historic farmhouse is located just south of the heart of Mesopotamia Historic District. Here you can relax and unwind in the tranquil atmosphere of Amish Country. Close by are an abundance of Amish shops and roadside stands.
