  • The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium

    Located just north of Columbus, in Powell, The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is a non-profit zoo that's home to over 9,000 animals representing over 675 species. In 2009, it was named the number one zoo in America by USA Travel Guide.

  • Kelton House Museum & Garden

    Step back into Ohio's past in an elegant 19th century Columbus town home that served as a stop on the Underground Railroad. Antique furniture, music boxes, and decorative accessories highlight a tour by a costumed docent or the self-guided audio tour. The Kelton House was built in 1852 by Columbus businessman Fernando Cortez Kelton. The home was continuously occupied by members of the Kelton family until 1975, when Grace Kelton, Fernando's granddaughter, died. She left her home to the Columbus Foundation which contracted with the Junior League of Columbus to restore and maintain the home as a museum of local history and the decorative arts.

    Reflecting the culturally diverse nature of the past and the present, the Museum interprets preserves and develops its facility and collection, interprets local history, educates the community, and trains volunteers.

  • NASA Glenn Research Center

    The men and women of the NASA John H. Glenn Research Center at Lewis Field have, since 1941, been the pioneers and innovators whose work has expanded horizons and opened frontiers for our explorers in air and space. The Center defines and develops propulsion, power, and communications technologies for NASA's aeronautics and space missions.

    Guided tours of the world-class research facilities are conducted on select Saturdays of each month from April through October.  (See Web site for schedule and details.)  Tours are free and offered to all ages. RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED and are on a first-come, first-served basis. Access to the Saturday tour program is limited to U.S. citizens and Lawful Permanent Residents. Other security restrictions apply. Most tour stops are wheelchair accessible.  See Web site for details.

    The Great Lakes Science Center in downtown Cleveland is now the home to the new NASA Glenn Visitor Center.  Please visit their site for information on hours and admission.

    Hop on the Put-in-Bay Tour Train for a great narrated, historical tour of the island, then visit the Butterfly House after the train drops you right at its front door.

Also available at the Depot Downtown.  The Island Fun Pack includes your ferry ride to the island, your narrated tour aboard the Put-in-Bay Tour Train, admission to Perry's Cave, The Butterfly House at Put-in-Bay, Heineman Winery & Crystal Cave, and a round of miniature golf at The War of 18Holes.  In 2014, we added The Lake Erie Islands Nature & Wildlife Center to the Fun Pack!
