Perry's Cave Family Fun Center/The Butterfly House at Put-in-Bay
Perry's Cave Family Fun Center is "the center of it all" at Put-in-Bay. Perry's Cave, an Ohio Registered Natural Landmark, is a limestone cave 52' below the surface of South Bass Island in Lake Erie. The guided tour takes about 20 minutes. In 2004, we opened The Butterfly House at Put-in-Bay, a 4000 sq. ft. aviary housing over 500 exotic butterflies from all over the world, along with a 5000 sq. ft.gift shop with something "butterfly" for everyone.
Besides Perry's Cave and The Butterfly House, our Family Fun Center is home to Gemstone Mining, Geode Cutting, Antique Car Museum, Rock Wall and a Miniature Golf Course. New in 2006, was Fort aMAZEn', giant maze challenge. In 2011, we added Gotcha Laser Tag!
The Tour Train makes frequent stops at the Family Fun Center, and is a great way to see Historic South Bass Island.
Fun Center Combo Packs are available allowing you to tour the cave & butterfly house and play mini-golf all for one low price. Island Fun Packs are another money-saving option, combining many attractions into one discounted package, available at Miller Boat Line, The Jet Express or the Lake Erie Islands Regional Welcome Center. The Family Fun Pack includes your ferry ride to the island, your narrated tour aboard the Put-in-Bay Tour Train, admission to Perry's Cave, The Butterfly House at Put-in-Bay, Heineman Winery & Crystal Cave, and a round of miniature golf at The War of 18Holes.
