  • Amish & Mennonite Heritage Center

    Behalt offers fascinating and enjoyable way to learn about the Amish and Mennonite people. Besides a free 15-minute video presentation, visitors may take a 30-minute interpretive tour (paid admission) of a colorful, stunning 265-ft x 10-ft original oil painting depicting Amish and Mennonite history. The presentation is world-class and the facility is handicap accessible and built to accommodate motor coach groups. The mural was painted by German-born, internationally known artist Heinz Gaugel. Other displays highlight heritage aspects of Amish and Mennonites. The Center also has a large selection of books by and about the Amish and Mennonites, local crafts, art gallery, displays, large clean restrooms, and offers group rates. A special exhibit of relief wood carvings display the craftsmanship of local Amish cabinet builder. Pioneer Barn houses an original Conestoga Wagon that brought early settlers to Holmes County. Restored one-room school, dating from 1856, used to tell story of Amish education.

  • Breitenbach Wine Cellars

    Breitenbach Wine Cellars is one of the most visited wineries in the country!  The winery crushes, presses and bottles 20 varieties of vinifera, Fench Hybrid and Labrusca grape varieties such as Frost Fire and Roadhouse Red.  Breitenbach makes a fabulous Tawny Port and Ice Wine. Breitenbach is a premium producer of 20 varieties of award-winning natural fruit wines including Red Raspberry, Peach, Blackberry and Dandelion. 
    Tours are available by appointment and tasting is offered daily in the gift shop.  Many beautiful gifts and antiques are available.  Breitenbach offers gift boxes for all occasions.  The deli at Breitenbach features Ohio Grand Champion Swiss cheese.  Thirty local and imported cheeses are available for sampling as well as German smoked meats.  Cafe Breitenbach serves salads, panninis and hearth-baked pizza Monday-Sat. from 11-3.  Indoor seating is available as well as the patio in warm weather.  Breitenbach is home to Fred's Famous Barbecue.  Baby back ribs and chicken are on the menu.

  • Baylor Beach Park

    Gateway to Amish country. Baylor Beach Park has been family owned & operated since 1954. Located in beautiful Ohio just minutes from the world's largest Amish settlement. Baylor Beach Park has 60 level chipped & sealed sites angled for easy set-ups. Each site has a picnic table & fire ring. 
    There is a 2 acre water park lake which includes a 90' tube slide, 4 small slides, small & large log rolls, buckets of fun, squirting water fountains & 1 & 3 meter diving boards. There is a 1 acre lake for paddleboats, funyaks, and aquabikes. 
    Also, for your enjoyment is a 18 hole miniature golf course, 2 sand volleyball courts, basketball courts, horseshoes, playground, 5 picnic shelters and concession stand. We also offer WiFi.

  • Mohican State Park

    Mohican State Park is located in Ashland County near Loudonville. Mohican State Park is in the heart of beautiful Amish Country. Hike on 13 miles of trails along & above the dramatic gorge of the Clearfork River, a National Natural Landmark. Go horseback riding in the adjacent state forest (bring your own horse). Picnic areas have tables, grills & reservable shelters. Nature programs provide summer entertainment. Wading & tubing the Clearfork River is a great hot-weather pursuit. Private canoe liveries rent canoes. Fly-fishing on the river is popular. Hunting is permitted in the adjacent state forest.

    Relax in a lodge guest room or cozy cottage. The lodge features a dining room, lounge, and indoor & outdoor pools.

    The 2 bdrm. cottages feature kitchen, living room w/fireplace, dining area, screened porch, bathroom, heat & A/C. several cottages are pet friendly.
    The campground offers 118 campsites with electric hookups; 33 full-hookup sites with electric, sewer and water; and 35 non-electric sites including 12 walk-in tent sites.  Amenities are a swimming pool, hot showers & modern restrooms. Try hassle-free camping in a Camper Cabin.

  • Miller Ferries to Put-in-Bay & Middle Bass Island

    Miller Boat Line - Passenger and auto ferries provide daily service to the Lake Erie Islands of Put-in-Bay (South Bass Island) and Middle Bass Island. Miller Ferries depart Catawba, take exit Rt. 53 North off of Rt. 2. The ferry trip to Put-in-Bay takes 18 minutes, and 40 minutes to Middle Bass.



    Cars, motorcycles, RVs, boats, trailers and bicycles are welcome aboard - and Miller Ferry is the only service that takes both passengers and vehicles to these islands. Please call our office at 800-500-2421 for vehicle information and restrictions. We are the only ferry to Put-in-Bay that offers free parking. Rental transportation, including bikes and golf carts, available near the dock.

  • Put-in-Bay on South Bass Island

  • Perry's Cave Family Fun Center/The Butterfly House at Put-in-Bay

    Perry's Cave Family Fun Center is "the center of it all" at Put-in-Bay. Perry's Cave, an Ohio Registered Natural Landmark, is a limestone cave 52' below the surface of South Bass Island in Lake Erie. The guided tour takes about 20 minutes. In 2004, we opened The Butterfly House at Put-in-Bay, a 4000 sq. ft. aviary housing over 500 exotic butterflies from all over the world, along with a 5000 sq. ft.gift shop with something "butterfly" for everyone.
    Besides Perry's Cave and The Butterfly House, our Family Fun Center is home to Gemstone Mining, Geode Cutting, Antique Car Museum, Rock Wall and a Miniature Golf Course. New in 2006, was Fort aMAZEn', giant maze challenge. In 2011, we added Gotcha Laser Tag!
    The Tour Train makes frequent stops at the Family Fun Center, and is a great way to see Historic South Bass Island.
    Fun Center Combo Tickets are available allowing you to tour the cave & butterfly house, play mini-golf, climb the rock wall, run the maze and/or play laser tag all for one low price.
