  • Amish Country Riding Stables - Charm

    Featured in "America's Horse" August 2009 Issue. Take a Guided Horseback Trail Ride in Ohio's Amish Country at the Guggisberg Swiss Inn. Enjoy Winter fun with Horse Drawn Sleigh Rides. The Sleigh Ride lasts approximately 20 minutes. Afterwards, come in for hot cocoa and freshly popped popcorn!
    Make a memory that will last a lifetime while on horseback. See Amish country in a different way. The ride goes through woods, meadows and hilltops and the views are amazing. This is a unique riding stable for several reasons. One being you are actually riding over Amish land. See ya' there partner! This ride lasts approximately 45 minutes and is limited to 5 riders at one time.

  • National Museum of the United States Air Force

    The National Museum of the United States Air Force is the world's largest and oldest military aviation museum. The museum welcomes about one million visitors from around the world each year and boasts 17 acres of indoor exhibit space, more than 360 aerospace vehicles and missiles, and thousands of artifacts.

  • Ravenwood Castle & Medieval Village

    An escape from the real world awaits you!  The Ravenwood Realm sits atop the highest hill in scenic Swan Township where delightfully different rooms suites and cottages with fireplaces help you create your own fairy tale!
    Dine in the Great Hall, stroll through the gardens and forest, and vist the nearby parks of the Hocking Hills and  Lake Hope.  Plenty of interesting activities, shops, antiques malls, art galleries and much more are within a few miles.

  • Hocking Hills State Park

    Hocking Hills State Park is located in Hocking Co. near Logan, an hour southeast of Columbus. The scenery is breathtaking, with recess caves, cliffs & waterfalls. Spectacular natural features include Old Mans Cave, Ash Cave, Rock House, Cantwell Cliffs & Cedar Falls.

    The Ash Cave trail is wheelchair accessible, and most other features are easy to moderate hikes from parking areas. The park offers many hiking trails totaling 10 miles, along with 4 miles of mountain biking trails and 40 miles of bridle trails on adjacent state forest (bring your own horse).  There is an archery range and trail with a variety of targets. 

    Picnic areas have tables, grills & 4 reservable shelters. Programs provide entertainment all year. The visitor center at Old Mans Cave features local geology & history. 

    The 2-bedroom vacation cottages have kitchen, bathroom w/shower, living room, fireplace, TV, screened porch, & heat/A/C. The campground has 156 campsites with electric and 13 non-electric sites, plus 3 hassle-free Camper Cabins. Several cottages are pet friendly.

    Campground amenities are showers, restrooms & campground pool. Pets permitted on designated sites. The Dining Lodge, located near Old Mans Cave, is open seasonally with restaurant, lounge, game room & outdoor swimming pool. (No overnight facilities available.)

    Camping rates (weekends) range from $22/night to $29/night for non-electric/electric sites. Camper cabins are $40/night. Cottages range from $105 to $130/night. Call 1-866-644-6727 for reservations.

  • Shawshank Trail Tour

    The Shawshank Trail Drive-it-Yourself Tour in Mansfield, Ohio!  Explore the sites!  Stand in the same location as Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman!  See where this impressive movie was filmed!   Hear the fascinating stories!  The Shawshank Trail Drive-it-Yourself Brochure will help you navigate your way around Mansfield, Ashland and Upper Sandusky, Ohio at your own pace visiting the same sites as Hollywood once did when they were filming Shawshank Redemption.  Visitors and fans can print the brochure from www.shawshanktrail.com with directions for each destination.Highlights of the tour let you see first hand the tunnel in which Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins) dug his way to freedom, on display at the Historic Ohio State Reformatory.  Or the opening scene at Pugh Cabin on the property of Malabar Farm State Park where Andy waited for his wife and lover.  See where Brooks fed the pigeons in Central Park in downtown Mansfield.  You can even sit in the very seats where the premier of The Shawshank Redemption was shown in 1993 at the Historic Renaissance Theatre. These are just a few attractions in the Mansfield area where Hollywood walked . . . now you can too!The web site lists attractions that are open to the general public with their hours of operation.  Visitors are encouraged to bring their cameras for great photo opportunities!  Please note that the Oak Tree is located on private property and photos may only be taken from across the road on Malabar Farm State Park's property.The majority of the movie was filmed in Mansfield, with scenes from Ashland, Butler, Upper Sandusky, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Portland, Maine.

  • City Overview Tour of Columbus, Ohio

    Capital City Tours opens the portals of time with our tour of Columbus and its 200 years of history, growth, change, death, and rebirth. We will start in Franklinton, the pioneer settlement that preceded the City of Columbus, and where Ohio troops in the War of 1812 were organized and sent into battle.  Then we will cross the Scioto River to Columbus where Jean Hayward will provide a narrated tour that adds a richness to Columbus and allows you to experience the city in a manner that will give you an appreciation for the art, history, and culture around every corner.
    Transportation is provided for groups of six or fewer; however, touring coaches can also be arranged and are an excellent option for larger groups.  Tours are arranged and can be tailored to fit your group's desires. I want to work with you to show our guests the best of Columbus.
