Day 1 - A day at the “parks”.
Begin at Crocker Park. Shop a variety of stores, take in a movie, play a game of chess on their “life size” board. Stay for lunch, lots of great options! Spend the afternoon at the French Creek Reservation. One of the many Lorain County Metro Parks. It's nature center has a bird observatory and indoor playground. Kids can climb, crawl, and explore in this fun room. French Creek also offers 4 ½ miles of winding wooded trails. So work up an appetite! Grab some wood-fired authentic Italian pizza at Wood & Wine. Watch pro-baseball team Lake Erie Crushers play at All-Pro Freight Stadium. Get some rest at one of our great hotels. Fairfield Inn & Suites or Value Place Hotel, both located near the Stadium.
Day 2 - Enjoy a day on the water!
Breakfast at the hotel and then slather on the sunscreen! And get out to the lake for fun in the sun! Lakeview Park, another Lorain County Metro Park, is the perfect spot for swimming or sunbathing. The kids can burn off some energy at the playground on the beach as you enjoy beautiful views of the Lighthouse. Lunch at the Rose Café on the beach in the new Lakeview Beach Bathhouse. Rent a kayak for the afternoon at Great Lakes Kayaking located at the Black River Wharf in Lorain. Be sure to check out Lorain Port Authority’s event and boat tour schedules. If scheduling permits head to Black River Landing and hop on a relaxing Black River Nature Tour or Lorain Lighthouse Tour or catch a concert. Enjoy a wonderful sunset meal overlooking the shores of Lake Erie at Jackalope Lakeside.
