Paper Moon Vineyards

Paper Moon Vineyards sits on 50 acres of cleared and wooded land just west of the Vermilion River in the historic harbor town of Vermilion, OH.  It is a family owned winery that seeks to provide opportunities to discover more about wine in an atmosphere conducive to reflection and conversation while promoting responsible consumption.  Since opening in 2009, Paper Moon Vineyards has established itself as a maker of award-winning wines (Finger Lakes International and Ohio Wine Competition), was voted "BEST WINERY" by the Morning Journal's Reader's Choice Awards, and has been voted one of the top three wineries each year in the Cleveland's Fox8 Hotlist.

Guests enter the tasting room through a covered outdoor patio area with seating for 60 people. The patio overlooks a grassy courtyard with picnic tables, a fire ring, and plenty of room for lawn games. Beyond the courtyard is a view of the vineyard and pond.

The tasting room features a stone and stucco décor with a copper tasting counter and a large fireplace. Tables made from oak barrels provide seating for about 45. All of Paper Moon's wines are available for tasting.  Food items include paninis, flatbread pizzas, soup, salad, cheese plates, ciabatta bread with oil, gluten-free items, and more.

Behind a massive oak door, the winery has a destemmer/crusher and a press for processing fresh grapes. The production room also includes stainless steel, temperature-controlled tanks that allow the winemaker to control the fermentation process. The lab is outfitted to monitor the winemaking process from grapes to wine.
