Dairy Barn Cultural Arts Center

Build in 1914 and originally a functioning dairy barn, The Dairy Barn Arts Center is one of Southeast Ohio's premiere art galleries. The Dairy Barn features a variety of exhibitions and events, from regional artwork to the internationally famous Quilt National and Bead International exhibitions.

In addition to exhibitions, The Dairy Barn has a gallery shop, offers art classes, and regularly hosts community events. With so much to offer, The Dairy Barn Arts Center is a worthwhile stop on any visitor's itinerary.

Built in 1914, the Dairy Barn is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and features a 6500 square-foot gallery. Two of the structure's distinctive architectural elements are its slate roof and three cupolas.It sits on 36 beautiful acres.

Athens County GeoTrail - Handicap Accessible

Welcome to Athens County!

These are the first GeoTrails in Ohio! Also, it is the ONLY handicap-accessible trail in the nation.

To introduce you to all we have to offer, we have created two official Athens County GeoTrails, which features both a traditional version and one that is fully handicap-accessible. These trails will be available starting June 18, 2011.Coordinates and cache locations will be published at 8:00am!

To introduce these new geotrails, we will be hosting a kick-off event at the Dairy Barn Cultural Arts Center in Athens from 7:00-9:00pm. There will be food, entertainment, and prizes. Food is donated by Kiser's BBQ Shack! The best BBQ in town! Grand prize is a GPS Receiver donated by the Athens Walmart! Following the event, we invite you to join local cachers on a night caching experience that is part of our kickoff. Three new night geotrails will be published during our event. Other new traditional caches will be published the day of the kickoff event.
