Pleasant Hill Lake
Pleasant Hill Lake, situated in Richland and Ashland counties near Loudonville in Mohican Country, is one of central Ohio's top boating and outdoor attractions. Managed by the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District, the lake was constructed in the 1930s for flood reduction and water conservation, but has turned into an outdoor recreational paradise. The lake and Pleasant Hill Lake Park easily are accessible by Rt. 39 or 603 to Rt. 95, just outside the village of Perrysville. Boating, fishing, camping, hiking, biking, hunting, swimming and more are among the reasons visitors make their way to Pleasant Hill Lake each year. A campground of nearly 400 sites at Pleasant Hill Lake Park accommodates visitors for a weekend, a week, month or more. The park also is home to a full schedule of activities and events each year from Memorial Day through Labor Day. A full-service marina also is located on the lake for visitors and guests.
