Toledo Museum of Art
The Toledo Museum of Art’s collection of more than 35,000 works of art ranks among the finest in the United States. In more than 35 galleries, the Georgia and David K. Welles Sculpture Garden, and the new SANAA-designed Glass Pavilion, the Museum exhibits outstanding works of art including paintings and sculpture by Cézanne, Cole, David, Degas, Gainsborough, Holbein, Kiefer, Manet, Miró, Monet, Picasso, Pissarro, Rembrandt, Rubens, and van Gogh; masterworks from antiquity, Asia, and Africa; decorative arts; and works of art in glass.
Since its founding in 1901, the Toledo Museum of Art has been hailed for its accessibility—offering free admission for more than 108 years—and for its strong educational mission. The Museum offers a significant number of important temporary exhibitions each year, along with a number of free programs including glass demonstrations, guided tours, weekly "It's Friday" after-hours programming, hands-on children's activities in the Family Center, and much more.
Annual attendance at the Museum exceeds 470,000, making the Museum one of the most visited art museums nationally on a per capita basis, in company with the National Gallery of Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
